About Roman Fedoryshchak

I am a Chemical Biologist, with extensive experience working with Biochemistry and Molecular Biology tools. I am deeply passionate about exploring molecular mechanisms of disease and contributing to new medicines that improve patient outcomes. I obtained a PhD in Chemical Biology from Imperial College London, working with Prof. Ed Tate. There, I used variety of experimental techniques from organic synthesis to developing biophysical assays to cloning and proteomics.Currently, as a postdoctoral fellow at the Francis Crick Institute in the lab led by Dr. Richard Treisman, I have studied signaling and regulation of PP1/Phactr and PP1/Spinophilin phosphatase complexes, explored Rho-actin signaling pathway, and worked on structural biology aspects of PolII transcriptional regulation. I have used a wide variety of chemical and biological tools to investigate research questions related to cancer, epilepsy and developmental biology. Skills/experience: CHEMICAL BIOLOGY and PROTEOMICS (photochemistry, bioorthogonal chemistry, affinity pulldown, label free/TMT/SILAC proteomics, phosphoproteomics, full proteomics sample preparation and quantitative analysis, statistics, MaxQuant, Perseus, PEAKS).MOLECULAR BIOLOGY (cell culture, cell line engineering, SDS-PAGE, WB, IP, IF, confocal microscopy, flow cytometry, various cloning, plasmid handling and transfection, RT qPCR, siRNA, BSL-2, lentiviral infection).BIOCHEMISTRY (protein expression/purification, AKTA purification, development of binding and activity assays, high-throughput assays, BLI, compound library screening, ligand design, PyMOL).ORGANIC CHEMISTRY (organic synthesis, liquid chromatography, HPLC, NMR).LEADERSHIP (establishing collaborations, supervising students, managing CRO contacts).COMMUNICATION, ORAL (presenting at seminars, meetings, conferences, committee meetings) and WRITTEN (publications, reports, grants). I am open to exciting pharma/biotech opportunities that bridge basic science and drug discovery.
