About Greg Wallis
After a 25-year global career in international trade, investment and diplomacy in public and private sector organizations in Australia, Asia, North America and Latin America, I am putting that experience to work in a new venture, the Caravela Group.The Caravela Group was founded to develop international trade and investment for Australian businesses, with a focus on Brazil. My 10 years in Brazil as Consul-General and Senior Trade Commissioner with the Australian government, and a further 2 years with Philips Electronics has given me a unique perspective and ability to assess the viability of business opportunities in Brazil and provide practical advice and contacts. Brazil is a large and dynamic market that offers compelling opportunities across a range of sectors, but can be complex, confusing and hard to access. That’s where we can help. Our first clients were Australian wineries looking to diversify internationally and build a presence in Brazil, a country where Australia currently holds only 0.5% of the imported wine market, but where significant opportunity for growth exists. With our partner we have facilitated large contracts for three Australian wineries with Brazil's largest supermarket group, whose dominance in the retail wine sector can help build a greater Australian wine presence in Brazil over the next 5 years. We've also helped clients in the resources and transportation sectors. Whatever your area of interest in exporting to, or investing in Brazil, please get in touch to discuss your plans and objectives.
