The Principal is responsible for the implementation of school policy, effective leadership of the school including overall management, management of human resources, curriculum development and an appropriate system of spiritual and pastoral care for students and staff, maintenance of good relations with all members of the school community and the broad professional and local community upholding the values of the school. Included is prudent management of finances, buildings and grounds.

So far, I have: ✔ Conceived, designed and deployed an efficient management system integrated with billing, production scheduling, resource utilization, and shipping, slashing the time spent on work order processing. ✔ By overhauling intra-company relationships and gently empowering employees, turned around staff attitudes and boosted morale, improving productivity by 10%.

Nexas Networks facilitates internetworking (computer integrated manufacturing) for machine control and real-time monitoring using MTConnect and proprietary hardware.

As General Manager, I have guided this business through the growing pains, helping it expand geographically, acquire new dedicated personnel, and holistically adapt policies and procedures to the increased volume of orders. I also managed IT-related aspects of the business. ✔ I have contributed to turning Spring Valley from a business operating out of the owner's home to a multimillion dollar enterprise with 2 new locations. ✔ I’ve eliminated shipping and receiving, and production inefficiencies by implementing a system that enabled staff and management to track time and resources needed for specific jobs. I deployed the solution on a shoestring budget, without compromising ongoing operations. ✔ I have re-engineered warehouse utilization methodologies by reorganizing the space and equipping it with additional racking to maximize utility. As a result, I’ve saved the company 10% in salary expenses. ✔ Led website development process, launching the site in line with set timelines and budget.

In this role, I taught 350 expatriate students of a K-12 school in a multi-cultural, international environment, leading a secondary campus as a Principal / Vice-Principal for 4 years. I prudently managed the school’s budget and guided the administrative team in supporting the students’ and faculty’s many needs. I also oversaw staff hiring in a highly transitory work environment. In addition, I championed the establishment of a web presence and handled all IT requirements. Some of my most notable achievements in this role include: ✔ Replacing a school administration management system with a sleek, customized, MS Access-based solution of my own design. The system was complete with report cards, automatic grades importing, intelligent troubleshooting feedback, attendance tracking, transcript management, scheduling, tuition accounting, and a broad range of other functionalities. It outperformed commercial solutions available on the market at the time, and helped the school streamline its operations, as well as make information readily available to parents, admin, teachers, and students. ✔ Piloting the WASC (Western Association of Schools and Colleges) 5-year assessment and accreditation process, and delivering a comprehensive 100-page report with input from students, parents, teachers, community leaders, and other stakeholders. ✔ Led website development process, launching the site in line with set timelines and budget.

As a teacher at UIS, my principle responsibilities were the teaching of English (grades 7, 11, 12, and AP), and various computer applications courses. During this time I developed a mentor program to link students with adults for academic and social support.

As a teacher in this interim placement I had responsibility for the science department, the teaching of chemistry 11, physics 11, and Religious Studies 9. I strove to create student-centered learning experiences and engaging lesson plans, and contribute my teaching expertise to foster a professional, cooperative and nurturing school environment for all students, staff and community members.

As an educator and one of the founders of this K-12 high school, I served the district in multiple roles of progressive responsibility, including 4 years in a Vice-Principal capacity. In particular, I have: ✔ Developed and put in place the administrative infrastructure, including handbooks, curriculum documentation, and procedures. ✔ Organized and managed the school’s move to a new facility. ✔ By upping the school’s profile in the community, and personally guiding students transitioning from other educational establishments, boosted the enrollment from 85 to 300.
