Full-time Social Work lecturer & educator (employed by the University of Leeds). I'm the Admissions Tutor for our Social Work BA. I really enjoy collaborating with other colleagues on other modules & programmes. Personal tutor & dissertation supervisor. Trying my best to keep my feet on the ground after leaving my SW job at Leeds City Council (2007 - 2022) where I was involved in helping set up strengths based approaches. Worked in different areas & teams around Leeds. Still love many aspects of the job, always enthusiastic about it!!! Interested in; strengths based approaches, men in Social Work, admissions and widening participation, simulated & authentic assessments, and competence standards. Also cultural competence in Social Work & SW education, hoarding disorder, community Social Work, integration between adult social care & health, and the history of adult Social Work. Trustee of a local Men's Shed in Bradford, woodworker & runner. Husband & father!
