About Stephen Rhind-Tutt

I love libraries, education and publishing. I innovate. I worked on the first CD-ROMs and internet databases. I created some of the first primary source, map, comic, case study, VR and streaming media databases to libraries. I’ve developed over 400 successful online products and had fewer than 10 fail. I’ve built products and services from scratch for academics in STEM, the social sciences and the humanities, in product portfolios up to $150m in sales. My colleagues and I have given voice to hundreds of authors, playwrights, musicians, film makers and disenfranchised groups. We’ve found and preserved rare recordings and texts, developed innovative new business models, and created new forms of indexing that have enabled new scholarship. Together we made Alexander Street the largest vendor of streaming video to libraries in the world.I've served on the boards of the DLF, the Council on Library and Information Resources and the University of California Press. I’ve keynoted and spoken at many industry events, such as NASIG, The Charleston Conference, SSP and AAUP.
