Band on the Run has quickly become the largest running event in Muskoka. The event consists of a Half Marathon, 10k, 5k, Kids Run in the morning and an all-ages, licensed, Music Festival in the afternoon. In 2017 it had grown to 2,500 participants from across Ontario and beyond. The music festival has featured Juno award winning bands including: The Sheepdogs, Whitehorse, Danny Michel, Joel Plaskett, Matt Mays, The Jim Cuddy Band, and Hey Rosetta!

River X Racing was co-founded by Mike Varieur and Rob Horton. It started by developing it's signature event, Muskoka River X, a marathon paddling race tagged as The Longest Single Day Expedition Paddling Race in the World. In the MRX, competitors paddle a 130km loop around Muskoka stretching from Huntsville to Bracebridge and back using a canoe, kayak or stand-up paddle board. River X Racing has expanded it's races to include other distances: * MRX 220km Coureur-des-bois - spanning the whole of Algonquin Park and Muskoka, * MRX 80km Sprint, * Big East River X 40km, * 24 Hours of River X, a 24 hour marathon paddling relay event - the first of it's kind

The Limberlost Challenge has grown to be one of the most popular ultra distance trail running races in Ontario. In 2017 it hosted 600 participants at the Limberlost Forest Reserve North East of Huntsville. The race was founded by Neil Jefferson and Dave Gibson and has been continually growing year after year. The race comprises one or more loops on a beautiful 14km trail crossing the forest reserve providing participants the opportunity to run 14km, 28km or 56km.
