I've been a patent attorney since 2003 and enjoy the combination of delving into the fine details of the technology of a client, whilst also learning about and helping further their commercial objectives. I have experience across a wide range of technologies, including aerospace, offshore engineering, structural engineering, battery management technology, consumer electronics, medical imaging and diagnostics, and defence-related technologies. In addition to working with large multinational companies, I work with many small and medium sized businesses and enjoy helping my clients improve their understanding of intellectual property and how it fits in with their business development. I've also been involved in a number of transfers of large, worldwide, IP portfolios. This has included liaising with attorneys across multiple-jurisdictions to ensure that all of the local requirements are met, and the rights are successfully transferred. In addition to this, I've worked on asset purchases of companies in administration, and have experience of the particular challenges posed by such scenarios.
