South African born and well-travelled. I have experienced a diverse range of cultures across Africa, Europe, Southeast Asia, and Oceania, and have been resident to Singapore and Turkey. I am now permanently based in Melbourne, Australia.Following a successful career in technology, I refocused my career towards my passion in the health space. Specifically, my interests are in Public Health, Behavioural Psychology and Behavioural Neuroscience. My thesis informed part of a longitudinal neuroscience sub-study (Neuroimaging of the Children’s Attention Project) that included research on sustained attention and white matter myelin in ADHD children utilizing MRI T1w/T2w sequences.My unique background, experience and set of skills provide value in a variety of roles.I have a strong understanding of the psychological, social, and cultural factors that impact public health, as well as the ability to conduct research and analyse data. I have knowledge of the principles of public health and the ability to design, implement and evaluate health promotion and disease prevention programs. I understand the importance of cultural competency, and how to create and implement effective communication strategies for diverse communities. I understand and can apply the principles of health behaviour change and can design and implement interventions to promote healthy behaviours. I have strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills, critical for communicating with colleagues, stakeholders, and community members. I am an effective team member who can collaborate with other professionals in a multidisciplinary setting.
