Directly providing advice to National Highways executive team as the economics Subject Matter Expert on all investment proposals surrounding major enhancements.Managing the production of, and responsible for reviewing, economic reports on National Highways' portfolio of investments for the executive committee and external stakeholders. Developing National Highways' Value for Money capability and leading the VfM improvement programme. Leading continuous development of internal Value for Money and related frameworks and technical appraisal guidance applicable to all economic cases developed for National Highways investment. Leading the Analytical Methods Strategy Group internal to National Highways and responsible for setting and executing annual analytical research plans.Coordinating with the Department for Transport on joint appraisal methods development through frequent joint steering group meetings. Managing a team of graduate and senior economists, and involved in the recruitment of new staff to the National Highways economics team.

Scoping the economic analysis to underpin the Business Cases of National Highways' major investment projects in the North of England and the portfolio of candidate future investment projects. Providing technical economic advice and review of assessment reports to ensure and demonstrate value for public money whilst maintaining project delivery for a portfolio of major infrastructure enhancements. Leading on primary economic research projects and contributing to the development of new appraisal methods to demonstrate value for money of National Highways' investment proposals.

Co-ordinating and challenging novel research projects aiming to develop the appraisal methods available to National Highways. Co-ordinating the production of value for money statements by the economics team, maintaining records of value for money and producing reports on the economic performance of National Highways' portfolio of enhancements for internal and external stakeholders. Producing written reports and presentations to communicate economic advice on a range of economic issues and for a variety of audiences.Presented work on Valuing Community Severance on the SRN at the European Transport Conference 2020 in Dublin.

Assistant to economic research projects at various stages of completion in a range of microeconomic topics including CEO remuneration and performance, gender pay discrimination, and analysis of UK lotto welfare effects.

Successfully taught up to 75 students per week enrolled on undergraduate economics courses with no prior teaching experience. Co-ordinated with tutors and lecturers on the programme and created teaching materials for the whole department to use when gaps in the courses were identified.
