It is important to me to create a positive ripple effect by working with like-minded brands and people. The area I have focused on is cyber wellness and cyber safety with the aim to excite people about the workplaces of the future, smart cities, connected- and cyber savvy schools and parents who raise responsible digital citizens.As innovators and solution providers we have the responsibility to not only share the amazing opportunities that technology presents, but also to educate and empower citizens to understand the associated risks. This offers an interesting challenge to create "heart-hitting" messaging, to develop community-connecting narratives and manage global perceptions while understanding each region's unique challenges. Whether we focus on wellness, insurance, education and any other area - we have the power to influence change and behaviour in a positive way.Building my network and collaborating with industry bodies like the Executive Women's Forum (for women in cyber security and risk management), Federation for South African Schools Governing Bodies, being an advisor and speaker at EduTech and EduWeek and working with Government agencies to developing Cyber Safety Toolkits for schools, has afforded me the opportunity to help shape new thinking.Having a seat at round table discussions with Google, META, the Film & Publication Board and industry allows me to share what I hear directly from the audiences we serve and to address their concerns.Helping cyber crime victims and training families, schools and corporates on how to become cyber savvy keeps me connected with the end user and consumer - the people whose lives we aim to enhance.I have enjoyed using my talents and developing skills to ensure we share the message as far and wide as possible. This has added valuable skills I have to offer and it gives me a higher level of understanding and the ability to lead the teams who execute on activities I have had to manage or do myself.
