Educated in climate physics, I have worked on several academic projects (including PhD) to determine the local and global effects of a changing climate on glaciers. I worked two years for a company focusing on ICT solutions for the weather and water sectors, coordinating the contribution to international research projects. Currently, I work as a research scientist at the Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute on ocean surface wind retrieval from satellites.I have ample experience in handling data sets, from meteorological observations to climate model output and from spatial inventories to satellite products. I have contributed to and worked with models in various programming languages, and also built models myself. My academic projects involve collaborations with other researchers, including multiple visits to international institutes. I presented the results at numerous meetings and in scientific papers. Furthermore, I gave (invited) lectures and supervised students. As project manager I collaborated closely with international partners in the project consortia, as well as with software developers internally. In all projects I had additional responsibilities as work package leader, focus group leader or similar. I enjoy using my analytical and programming capacities to make sense of data, including data visualisation and reporting. I am reliable, well-organized and have an eye for detail. I like interaction with colleagues and sharing my knowledge and I am eager to learn new things.
