Control entry processing of all individuals into vital areas of the facility by verifying identity and authorization to enter. Protect MCSO employees and the public by detecting and deterring threats within the facility.Conduct required inmate and room searches in accordance with facility security requirements. Assess and respond to alarms and deter attempts by unauthorized persons seeking to gain entry into vital areas of the facility.Make scheduled and unscheduled patrols of the facility.Report all observed security and safety violations. Secure, protect, and assist during accidents, fires, and similar areas of mishap until relieved.Serve as an armed escort for inmates as required by the security policy.Conduct operational tests of intrusion and contraband detection equipment according to documented procedures. Issue and collect required firearms for incoming and outgoing LEA personnel.
