-Coordinate activities of the Ministry in several matters such as: development and promotion of tourism, foster small and medium enterprises, trade, mines, renewable energy, and industrial development.-Coordinate interinstitutional relations with federal and local governments. -Control and monitoring more than 2,000 activities and 15 strategic projects of the Ministry.-Give timely follow up on requests for access to government information.-Participate in the elaboration of the Development Plan of Oaxaca and regional and sectorial programs.-Coordinate staff: Press, Public Relations, technical Secretary and other areas.-Elaborate more than 80 speeches for the Minister of Tourism and Economic Development on different matters: economics, finance, tourism and development.-Prepare technical information and presentations for the meetings of the Minister, including those to be explain to the Chamber of Deputies and business organizations.-Prepare the balance and action plans of the Ministry in coordination with the World Bank.-Elaborate the weekly activities report for the Governor.

-Review international indexes and identify problems that most affect competitiveness in Mexico.-Analyze legislation and take into consideration best business practices around the world.-Simplify major economic impact procedures through reengineering of processes and the use of ICTs (foreign trade, government procurement, hiring workers, paying taxes, start a business, housing construction, foreign investment, tourism development, intellectual property) getting savings for $48 billion pesos.-Participate in the design and implementation of a one-stop shop called Tu empresa.gob.mx, that consolidates 18 steps required to start a business in Mexico. It reduced time from 34 days to two hours and costs up to 60%.-Support the establishment of a technology platform that enables the electronic exchange of data between the federal government, state governments and more than 3,000 notaries in Mexico.-Participate in the design and implementation of a one-stop shop for the registry of mobile guarantees that allows the Ministry of Economy to control commercial transactions

-Participate in the negotiation of bilateral and multilateral treaties with US, Canada, EU and the international organizations (OECD).-Give legal opinions before the signature of international treaties on several topics (FDI, double taxation, free trade, intellectual property, government procurement and economic, financial, scientific, cultural and judicial cooperation).-Authorize the arrangements signed by the Ministers, the Governors and Mayors with their foreign counterparts and with international organizations.-Maintain good relation with the Legal Counsel of the Presidential Office, the Senate, the Official Federal Gazzete, and the Ministries, in order to approve and to enforce international treaties.-Provide legal advice to different areas of the Ministry of Foreign Relations, embassies, consulates and international organizations on relevant topics, related to public and private international law (i.e. procurement and financial cooperation).

-Elaborate executive reports, conferences and speeches for the Minister in different events (Congress, Meeting with Ambassadors and Consulates, Chambers of Commerce). - Follow-up on the Public Security System and the electoral reforms..

-Administration of projects on environment, renewable energies and energy efficiency, which were financed by the EU, World Bank, USAID and the International Energy Agency.-Promote the transfer of technology to Mexico through pilot projects.

-Participate in the legal reforms to create the Regulatory Commission of Energy.-Contribute in the reforms to the Public Service of Electric Power Law and its Regulation to permit private investment in the sector.-Analyze the legal framework of the electrical sector in other countries.-Express opinions about international governmental contracts.-Inform foreign businessmen about investing possibilities in Mexico on the energetic sector.

-Support the control and monitoring of the main activities in the regional office (administrative issues, medical services, human resources and government procurement, including activities of 180 workplaces with more than 1.500 employees in hospitals, shops, pharmacies and crèches.)
