Assigned as Reliability Manager for the Space Shuttle SRB-IEA and SRB-ET/RSD programs, while maintaining responsibilities in the GSD Physics Lab of the Allied-Signal Corporation.Wrote the Reliability-Safety and Traceability Program Plans for the IEA and RSD programs based on NASA requirements.Reviewed NASA and Lockheed-Martin Alerts for program impact and so advised the respective program personnel to avoid problems.Reviewed and approved in a timely manner the Where Used Parts Lists for every SRB -ET/RSD and refurbished Space Shuttle IEA before shipment to Kennedy Space Center for re-use in the Solid Rocket Boosters.As GIDEP rep assistant, reviewed GIDEP Alerts and Diminishing Manufacturing Sources Notices against program parts lists, passing on those documents deemed critical to the Engineering community to avoid problems.Attained American Society for Non-destructive Testing Level III Radiograph Inspector/Instructor status for EEE parts following the successful passage of a written examination administered by GSD's only other Level III Radiographer.Wrote procedures for Personnel Certification and Vision/written/practical tests along ASNT guidelines for practice of Level I and II radiography by other GSD engineers in the GSD Physics Lab.Reviewed and approved Engineering Change Notices for drawings and parts lists to verify component information.

Maintained supervision over lab technicians and their work.Wrote Lab-standard test procedures for components, used by the lab technicians.Performed DPA for both active stock analysis and part failures.Wrote Failure Analysis reports with root cause or most probable conclusions.Reviewed and approved component test data to assure completeness and accuracy of testing.Designed breadboards for parts screening to SCD/Military requirements.Operated lab equipment such as ISI miniSEM II, Tektronix 576 Curve Tracer, and HP Faxitron 2D Xray system as part of DPA or Failure Analysis.

Performed testing of gyros and their associated analog/digital control electronics in accordance with Quality Control procedures at the large Guidance and Control Systems division (GSD) of the Bendix Corporation in Teterboro, New Jersey. These assignments led to an overview and understanding of project structure and system science.
