I joined Selex ES on a consultancy basis in October 2012 to manage the completion of the SANG SATCOM project which was the delivery of Satellite communication capability to the Saudi Arabian National Guard. I joined GE Aviation in February 2010 as Engineering Site Lead and Head of Projects. As a member of the executive leadership team I was responsible for the engineering department consisting of 46 engineers and the project management department consisting of 6 project managers. The companies business was the design, development, qualification, manufacture and delivery of actuation systems for landing gear on both civil and military platforms. I joined Agusta Westland in September 2006 as a programme management consultant. During my 3.5 years at AW I carried out many consultancy assignments, initially training and mentoring their project managers in the skills of Earned Value Management reporting on the VH71 project (US Presidential Helicopter). I undertook a number of other assignments which included carrying out trade studies and preparing proposals for upgrades to the Sea King Mk 4 helicopter.

I joined Selex Sistemi Integarti in January 2006, this was my first consultancy role. I was responsible for the delivery of all their projects which were managed by a project management team of 10 project managers. The companies business was the design, development and delivery of Air Traffic Control Systems their key customers were NATS, BAE Systems and Network Rail.

joined FR HiTemp in August 2004 as head of their Boeing programmes, FR HiTemp had just won the contract to develop the fuel system for the 787 Dreamliner which was the major development project that I was responsible for. The programme required the management of an extensive design team located on-site at Boeing’s Seattle design office. I was also responsible for the delivery of fuel systems for the 777, 767 and 747 aircraft.

I joined Normalair-Garrett in January 1989 as a project group leader to manage the design, development and qualification of the Mission Recording System for the EH101 helicopter for Westland Helicopters. During my 15 years at NGL / Honeywell I progressed through the ranks of project manager, chief projects engineer, senior programme manager to deputy programme director. I joined Waverley Electronics in August 1983 as a design engineer my major tasks were to carry out electronic design of interface equipment associated with Towed Array Sonar Systems (2031, 2061, 2046) these systems were fitted to RN ships. I progressed through the engineering ranks and took on my first role as a project leader on a digital recording system. During the period with Waverley / Dowty I was sponsored to study part-time for BA in Business Studies at Bournemouth University.

After leaving school I was accepted on an indentured engineering apprenticeship at AUWE. The first year was an introduction to engineering covering both mechanical and electronic and electrical engineering, during years 2,3 & 4 I specialised in Electrical and Electronic Engineering studying part-time at college in both Weymouth and Bournemouth where I gained HNC level in Electrical and Electronic Engineering.On completion of my apprenticeship I spent 2 years as a laboratory technician… Show more After leaving school I was accepted on an indentured engineering apprenticeship at AUWE.
