Initially for Vehicle Credit Limited then following takeover for Ratesetter Motor Finance. Oversight of post charge off debt recovery. Effective and compliant management of a range of external vendors and an internal team to reduce losses on post write off debt including. Responsible for designing and implementing asset recovery and re-marketing processes. Successfully introduced processes to improve bad debt recovery, post asset recovery, utilising debt recovery agencies and successful completion of debt sale projects. Working in the collections department, in my most recent position of Recoveries & Securities Manager I was responsible for managing key business relationships with debt collection agencies & purchasers and effectively managing our portfolio of charges secured over customer properties.I held sole responsibility for protecting the bank's interest in customer's properties by ensuring our legal charges are protected when completing property transactions such as Transfer of Equity. I had to meet deadlines to ensure charges were released promptly upon redemption of accounts and I was subject matter expert for all Land Register queries. I was also responsible for managing relationships with collections vendors including a field visit company and external agencies/solicitors. I had to conduct audits to ensure the vendors are fully compliant with the business policies and legislation such as the Consumer Credit act, Data Protection act, OFT and FCA regulations.I was responsible for reviewing credit file disputes, signing off and executing any amendment that may need to be made. This involved dealing effectively with varied and complex complaints to come to a satisfactory conclusion for the customer and the business.Prior to my most recent position I worked in a variety of collections based roles starting as a telephone agent dealing with customers in arrears and working my way up the career ladder with Citi. I have a wide and varied knowledge of the collections industry helping me achieve excellent recoveries results and effectively coach and manage staff ensuring they achieve KPI's and meet service levels set by the business.I was also records management officer for the entire department which required excellent organisational skills and I won two quarterly awards in recognition of excellent work.In line with Citi's wind down policy all of the accounts that I worked on have now been sold to a 3rd party and I was made redundant in January 2014 as a result.
