- Long term secondment to India playing a key role in the setting up of a new Credit Analysis Team in Chennai including staff recruitment and training, and the migration of the credit writing function for over 1,400 Larger Business connections from the regional UK Teams to India- Responsible for recruitment, development & ongoing management of a team of Credit Managers which had grown from an initial 4 people to 42 when I returned to the UK - Strong stakeholder management skills with Senior Leadership, RD’s, UK based Project Managers & other key individuals. Taking ownership & effectively handling issues as they arose in order to ensure minimal escalations to senior leadership. - Playing a key role in developing the new India based Credit Managers in terms of credit writing skills, knowledge of lending policies, communication skills, workflow management, systems etc. - Developing a buddy network in the team for the new joiners to use the skills of the existing team

Team Manager - Risk Operations
- To manage, motivate and coach to a high level of performance a team that grew to 58 staff over 5 teams covering the set up and risk assessment of new merchants, reviewing existing merchants, and collecting overdue debts from existing merchants- To change policies and procedures to streamline case processing and ensure strong emphasis placed on customer service e.g. Up Front Risk Assessment for Recruitment of High Risk Merchants using Experian scoring- Successfully managed the growth of the overall team where new merchant applications doubled to over 15,000 per annum, and new Collections cases exceeded 1,000 per month. - Playing a key role in the development, testing & launch of an online application form for new merchants - Using risk assessment skills to enable win / win packages to be put in place with merchants to ensure we win the business ahead of the competition- Visiting merchants to review exposure levels and discuss / agree security requirements - Implementing strong MI packages across all sections / teams to identify trends and results v targets- Developing strong relationships with Sales Team Leaders, Account Managers and Sales Centre to enable good working practices to be established- Assisting and advising in the launch and development of Educational Sales Managers Roles which provided the linkage between Barclaycard and the branch network to develop stronger relationships / working practices.
Team Manager - Bms Risk - Merchant Recruitment
- To manage, motivate, and coach a team of 12 people to produce a high level of performance to ensure merchant applications processed and risk assessed within service levels.- Increasing the team from 3 members to 12 over a 6 month period to enable Barclaycard to place much greater focus on the New Business Recruitment risk function, and to train each of the new recruits- Using strong credit assessment skills when dealing with more contentious cases & escalations to me - Playing major part in developing relationships between Risk and the Sales teams, which were very strained at my time of joining for various reasons- Major involvement in a project for moving the sanctioning of Low Risk merchant cases to the Sales Centre.
