We work with partners in industry, policy, finance and civil society to address the dual crises of inequality and climate change, inspiring and challenging the sector to raise ambition, accelerate action and widen perspectives to encompass marginalised and vulnerable communities.At Laudes we harness the power of business for good, by targeting root causes and the actors that influence ‘demand’, such as governments, cities, investors, asset owners, developers, designers and insurers. We work actively with changemakers and innovators to accelerate the move towards a zero-carbon and regenerative built environment, while improving social equity in the spaces that shapes people’s lives.

I manage Arup's global partnership with the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, bringing into my work the latest thinking of one of the world's leading advocates of a transition to a circular economy. My experience in design, construction and research mean I can find the value propositions and win-wins that really turn circular economy thinking into tangible business opportunities, adding value while reducing emissions. My skills include workshop design and facilitation, decarbonisation roadmaps, stakeholder engagement and business unit formation and upscaling.

In my materials consultant role I help clients identify how they improve their business through using materials in different ways, often focusing on reducing waste, general environmental impacts or carbon emissions specifically.Increasingly the ideas around the Circular Economy are central to this work, and I am working with partners across several sectors to understand what these ideas mean for business, government and individual lifestyles.I continue to provide structural engineer design services, typically on specialist existing building and heritage projects. I work comfortable across new structural engineering materials; steel, concrete, masonry and timber, and have a growing understanding of historic materials and ways of building.

Each review required a thorough understanding of the subject being studied, and required feedback to be provided to both the editor and the author to ensure the paper met the high scientific standards of the journal.

Richard was package manager on the structural steelwork and groundworks packages on 10 Fenchurch Avenue, a commercial development in the City of London. He managed all aspects of each package, covering health and safety, design co-ordination, programme and commercial issues. He ensured the package subcontractors complied with Sir Robert McAlpine's stringent sustainability reporting requirements.

Richard was a structural engineer working in the small structural team in Arup Associates.He gained experience designing in all major structural materials, for both new-build and renovation projects. He developed skills in structural optimisation using 3D modelling software and in graphic design.The multi-disciplinary nature of the practice allowed him to develop skills beyond the normal remit of a structural engineer, including mechanical design to minimise building operational energy use, and how to integrate architectural and structural elements to deliver elegant, tactile designs.
