    I have been a Foundation Governor for over 10 years. As Chair of Governors I am involved in overseeing the management of the school and ensuring our pupils receive the best possible education. I have regular meetings with the Senior Leadership Team to review progress of pupils and have an overview of the financial position of the school. I have been part of the recruiting team for 2 Headteachers as well as other members of the team.Prior to taking on the role of Chair, I was Chair of the Finance Committee, working closely with the HeadTeacher to deliver on a restructuring of the staffing team during a very difficult period of finance restraints. A very difficult task, when your priority has to be the welfare and education of our young people.I have learnt so much about myself, but more importantly the challenges faced by our school leaders and staff as they constantly look to maximise the potential of, what at times, can be a quite transient population. St Clare's is situated in Wavertree and with an ever-changing population we have the benefit of over 30 different mother tongues spoken. A good % of our children will not be with us for the whole of their junior years of education due to them moving around the country as their families seek to settle and make new lives for themselves. Whilst they are with us, they benefit from a loving, caring and excellent education.
