Manage the Veterans Business Outreach Center's Small Business Administration Grant for the state of New Mexico. Work with veteran entrepreneurs to achieve their goal of becoming self-employed. Network with the SBA, Small Business Development Centers, and Procurement Technical Assistance Program specialists. Manage and coordinate the Boots to Business and Boots to Business Reboot programs.

• Assist Veterans and eligible dependents in their goal to become self-employed• Actively participate in cooperative activities with partners in the business community • Counsel veterans on the feasibility of starting their own business• Assist veterans write business and marketing plans• Provide information on who to contact for finances • Provide information on how to register as a veteran owned business• Work closely with the Small Business Administration, Small Business Development Center and the Procurement Technical Assistance Program• Teach Boots2Business and Boots2Business Reboot modules

• Provide intensive services to meet the employment needs of disabled veterans;• Maximize emphasis toward serving those who are economically or educationally disadvantaged, including homeless veterans;• Providing vocational guidance or related services to eligible veterans identified as needing intensive services;• Outplacement in Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA) Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment Program offices; DVA Medical Centers; routine site visits to Veterans' Service Organization meetings; Native American Trust Territories; Military installations; and, other areas of known concentrations of veterans;• Manage and facilitate the Transition Assistance Program for members transitioning from the active duty military to civilian employment;• Contacting community leaders, employers, unions, training programs and veterans' service organizations to be sure eligible veterans get the services to which they are entitled;• Promoting and monitoring the participation of veterans in federally-funded employment and training programs;• Inform job applicants of details such as duties and responsibilities, compensation, benefits, schedules, working conditions, or promotion opportunities;• Provide information or refer individuals to public or private agencies or community services for assistance;• Advise clients regarding food stamps, child care, food, money management, sanitation, or housekeeping;• Monitor and record clients' progress to ensure that goals and objectives are met;• Locate barriers to client employment, such as inaccessible work sites, inflexible schedules, and transportation problems, and work with clients to develop strategies for overcoming these barriers.

• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with non profit and government agencies and use these relationships to develop new job opportunities for program participants;• Respond to requests for information about Senior Community Service Employment Program;• Inspect and evaluate workplace environments, equipment, and practices, in order to ensure compliance with safety standards and government regulations;• Monitor Host Agencies to prevent Maintenance of Effort violations;• Managed placement of senior participants in over 300 government and nonprofit Host Agencies state wide;• Prioritize placement of military veterans.

• Develop pools of employment opportunities for job seekers; • Develop relationships with employers and assisting in job-seeker searches; • Develop presentations and marketing materials; • Counsel displaced workers on job searching techniques; • Compile employment information and input data using a relational database.
