Mr. Walker graduated from the University of Toronto in Mechanical Engineering and completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.He was employed by TransCanada PipeLines (TCPL - now TC Energy) for 33 years in design, construction, operations and administration, rising to the position of Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer (COO). During his tenure at TCPL Richard was on loan for three years to the Pipelines Authority of South Australia as General Manager, reporting to the Authority’s Board of Directors and subsequently represented Canada on the International Gas Union, serving on the Transmission Committee and as chairman of the Papers Committee for the World Congress in Toronto. Richard was appointed Fellow of the Institution of Gas Engineers UK.Post TCPL, he worked as a part-time Member of the Ontario Energy Board and subsequently joined Westcoast Energy as President of its subsidiary Centra Gas Ontario Inc, a natural gas distribution company in northern and eastern Ontario. When Centra Gas was merged with Union Gas in1995 Richard moved to Vancouver as chairman of Pacific Northern Gas until retirement.He recently accepted the position as Advisory Board Chairman, Eco-Refinery Corporation.
