Working with global insurance groups on the implementation of IFRS 17 and IFRS 9

Responsibilities:• Co-ordination of insurance quarterly reporting process• Development of insurance disclosures in HSBC Holdings plc and HSBC Bank plc external reporting• Leadership of IFRS 9 implementation for HSBC's insurance business• IFRS 17 monitoring and development, including response to 2016 field testing questionnaire from IASB• Development of IFRS 15 approach for in scope revenue streams relating to insurance manufacturing and distribution• Other ad hoc technical accounting and financial control projects

Responsibilities:• Production of monthly group financial reporting pack for group board, incorporating income statement, balance sheet, cash flow, expense analysis and commentary• Coordination of group budgeting process and production of final consolidated profit and loss, balance sheet and cashflow forecast• Completion of financial statements for all group companies, including ensuring consistency of disclosures across the group and managing relationships with auditors• Production of quarterly loan covenant compliance reporting for lenders• Group tax planning and compliance, including corporation tax, VAT and Lloyd’s returns

Responsibilities:• Management of central costs team, which is responsible for financial control and reporting in relation to central services functions• Involvement in project to redesign reporting of group direct expenses, using a standard reporting and review framework across all group companies• Provision of finance support for project to reduce the cost base of the group and improve performance• Key involvement in sale of the group by IAG, including debt and corporate restructure and provision of information to multiple stakeholders• Responsibility for completion of financial statements for all group companies, including ensuring consistency of disclosures across the group and managing relationships with external auditors• Tasks relating to monthly, quarterly and annual group reporting, including review and approval of all group finance journals, creation of cashflow reporting and pension and directors’ remuneration calculations• Completion of ad hoc projects, including liquidation of group companies and simplification of intercompany balancesAchievements:• Completion of 2010, 2011 and 2012 financial statements for all group companies within specified deadlines• Design and implementation of a group cash flow forecast model that has been adopted as a standard report and used in order to guide the group through difficult times• Involvement in a project to review administrative expenses throughout the group and find ways to achieve industry benchmark targets• Completion of a group-wide debt restructure in order to facilitate the acquisition of the group by Aquiline Capital partners in April 2013

HCLIBS is a financial services outsourcing company, which manages pensions and insurance policies on behalf of clients such as Barclays, JP Morgan, AXA and Phoenix.Responsible for the financial management of all HCLIBS revenue (approximately £45 million per annum) and costs for the Operations division (approximately £25 million per annum)Responsibilities:• Preparation of monthly management accounting and contract lifetime value information, to support strategic and operational decision making• Involvement in preparation of the year end statutory accounts and information required for the audit• Leading revenue activities, including calculation of monthly invoices, determination of correct revenue recognition and tracking of aged debtor balances• Preparation of project profit and loss accounts for monthly review by project management team• Bid modelling and feasibility studies, including bids for new books of policies and renegotiation of existing contracts• Provision of ad-hoc financial support and training for operational management team
