Shotfirer Responsibilities:- Assembling, positioning, and detonating explosives to break or dislodge rock- Daily safe management and transportation of explosives in accordance with statutory regulations- Interpret blast design and other technical data- Accurately report on all blasting activities and explosives usage- Liaising with MMU operator to ensure highest level of safety and loading practices are adhered to- Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed before, during and after blasting activity- Carry out explosives stocktake and manage stock rotation- Training and upskilling of team members- Participate in Drill and Blast magazine and safety audit - Working with other departments to ensure fluidity of drill and blast daily practices(Survey, Production Supervisor, Dewatering)- Carry out any other tasks as directed by the Drill and Blast Supervisor- Actively contribute to the continuous improvement and innovation of work practices- Commitment, respect and compliance to health, safety and environment policiesMMU Operation Responsibilities:- Daily prestart inspections- Liasing with shotfirer to ensure highest level of safety and loading practices are adhered to- Daily safe management and transportation of explosive precursors in accordance with statutory and mine site regulations- Safe loading and reloading of MMU- Daily MMU operation in accordance with mine site SWP’s and regulations- MMU on bench unloading in accordance with select product specifications- Quality assurance checks on products being loaded into shot- MMU Monthly / Quarterly / Biannual / Annual inspections- Pump maintenance and inspections- Planned and breakdown maintenance on MMU- Load system calibrations- Relocation of MMU’s- Journey management and planning
