The Large Synoptic Survey Telescope (LSST) is a wide-field survey reflecting telescope under construction on the El Peñón peak of Cerro Pachón in Chile that will photograph the entire available sky every few nights. Site construction began on April 14, 2015, with engineering first light anticipated in 2019, science first light in 2021.

Provided guidance in the development of the ES&H program for the conversion of the former Homestake Gold Mine in Lead, South Dakota to the National Science Foundation’s (NSF) Deep Underground Science and Engineering Laboratory (DUSEL) and its operation. DUSEL was a multiyear, large-scale project to convert the Homestake site into an underground science laboratory at a depth of approximately a mile underground. When completed, DUSEL will serve as a national scientific resource serving academic and governmental research programs with broad scientific inquiry interests.

The Deep Underground Science and Engineering Laboratory, or DUSEL is a major project under consideration by the National Science Foundation. DUSEL will be a series of large laboratories, caverns, and cleanrooms serving the field of underground science. The main impetus for DUSEL is the study of extremely rare nuclear physics processes, like neutrino scattering, dark matter interactions, and neutrinoless double beta decay, which can only be studied in the absence of cosmic rays. (Cosmic ray muons on the Earth's surface cause backgrounds in these types of detectors, but the particles cannot penetrate great depths in rock.) Easy access to these great depths will open new frontiers in geomicrobiology, geosciences, and mining engineering, making DUSEL a multidisciplinary facility.

ITER is a joint international research and development project ($12 Billion) to demonstrate the scientific and technical feasibility of fusion power. Porject partners are the European Union, Japan, People´s Republic of China, India, Republic of Korea, Russian Federation and the USA. ITER is being constructed in Europe, at Cadarache in the South of France.

Managed site operations and infrastructure support for the Advanced Photon Source (APS), consisting 1,500,000 sq. ft. of laboratories, research facilities and technical support operations. This facility is operated by 450 scientific and technical staff in support of over 3000 visiting researchers who used the facility each year at that point in time.
