Managing DirectorZaneus Ltd Apr 2010 - Aug 2015Tipton, England, United KingdomZaneus ltd was an events company started almost by accident. I initially started putting on live music events as an aid to my university course in sound production, to enable students to get practice on live events. It escalated from there into a part time, then full time business. I had to wind the company up following the cost-overrun of an unsuccessful diversification attempt, coinciding simultaneously with a breakdown of the traditional income stream following the cancellation of a major event. Initially operating on weekends. I approached venues via email, cold-calling & drop-ins. Arranged site visits and meetings with venue managers & owners to negotiate hire terms. Conducted risk assessments including the planning and provision of security and first aid staff. Surveying of existing event infrastructure, sourcing supplementary equipment where necessary. Scouting for artists via social media, by attending events and networking. Matching artists with events based on genre & geographic location of fan-base. Design, build and maintenance of the company website and e-commerce store. Design & production of marketing material including business cards, flyers, posters, merchandise, e-shots, social media & web content. Organizing the distribution of tickets digitally via the e-commerce store, through the artists and via the venues or their elected box office. Installation and setup of sound & lighting infrastructure before event, dismantling after the event. Recording and editing of event videos. Recruitment and management of casual temporary staff at larger events -
