Driven by a desire to help business make data driven decisions using SQL, Tableau, Microsoft, or other platforms. Read on to learn more about me.I was born in the small Southeast Kentucky town of Middlesboro where I lived until I joined the Army in 1987. While serving my country I had the privilege of traveling to some of the most interesting countries in the world meeting diverse people groups who helped mold me into the person I am today. During my 20-year tenure with the military I was able to capitalize on my leadership skills and resourcefulness while developing invaluable team building skills. Additionally, I was able to greatly enhance my time management skills by completing my college education with honors all the way to the master's degree level while still working full time. After my military retirement in 2007, I entered a career in law enforcement with the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission. During my 16-year tenure I was able to mentor junior officers, teach safety programs and other informative programs, while also leading multiple large scale law enforcement operations utilizing other state and local law enforcement agencies in order to control and deter crime in one of the most diverse, continuous growth, and fast paced areas in the State of North Carolina.I consider myself a very personable type of leader who enjoys challenges and working with teams to accomplish missions with a can-do attitude. I like colleagues with a sense of humor and do not like negativity and feel it disrupts team workflow and should be addressed immediately. After 16 years with the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission, I retired on August 1, 2023, however I feel the word "Retire" is just that, a word. I feel my skills are still useful in the workforce and I plan to continue working and enjoying life with my family. I am not the type of person who "job hops" and I seek long term employment because I feel many times corporations, agencies, and businesses lose valuable knowledge when experienced employees leave, and new talent must be sought.
