It’s our intention to highlight the horticultural talents of Nottingham and Nottinghamshire, we aim to bring an event that will attract people from all over the country across a single weekend next summer.Nottingham has a growing and exciting horticultural community, we’ve some of the oldest allotments in the world, an inner-city farm, plus some wonderful parks and green spaces, we’ve got budding talents emerging from our universities and colleges, and we’re lucky enough to have some fantastic fruit and veg growers right on our door step, so why not celebrate this?Well, we don’t just want to celebrate it, we want to help nurture and grow (‘cuse the pun!) these elements, we want to shout about it from the roof tops, and we want other cities to look on in envy at what we’ve show them we can do!In our vision we see the event being a month long session of workshops, seminars and community based events, being held in communities by communities, it will climax on a weekend show stopper that boosts Nottingham in the eyes of the horticultural industries across the country.We hope to encourage Schools, Colleges, Universities, Allotment Societies, Horticultural Groups and green fingered individuals to get involved in as many diffrerent ways as possible, from holding stalls, hosting workshops, and competing in competitions.
