I edit the official magazine of the University of Oxford, QUAD and contribute directly to campaigns from within Oxford's Public Affairs Directorate, working with the news room and senior comms team.From a London base I also work on new energy applications across the spectrum including battery supply chains with the global auto industry, and non-exhaust emissions including tyres. Since early 2023 I have delivered vehicles to Ukraine and campaigned for the release of ULEZ scrappage vehicles from London for use in Ukraine, and am the UK face of car4ukraine, a Ukrainian organisation that provides vehicles to the Ukrainian armed forces. I was an academic historian for five years 2000-2005, a teaching fellow in modern history at Corpus Christi College (Oxford), before leaving academia to pursue a career as a business journalist, editor and communications specialist. Between 2005-2009 I edited CNBC Business. I lived in Berlin, Munich and the US between 1994-2000. I have a PhD in History from Yale University, specialising in modern European and British history, particularly modernism, ideas and culture before and after World War One.
