Directed Nolte's Program Management Team in the design and construction of the Cherry Creek North Business Improvement District's $18.5M Capital Improvements Project for the 16 block high-end mixed use district in the Cherry Creek area. A significant effort converted Fillmore Plaza from an under-used and… Show more Directed Nolte's Program Management Team in the design and construction of the Cherry Creek North Business Improvement District's $18.5M Capital Improvements Project for the 16 block high-end mixed use district in the Cherry Creek area. The project was a Place Making effort to enhance and update the public realm throughout the District to enhance pedestrian safety, wayfinding, public image and identity and sustainability. A significant effort converted Fillmore Plaza from an under-used and ill-maintained block to a vibrant block with thriving retail, residential and office uses adjacent to the Plaza. The space has extensive infrastructure and can be easily closed to traffic for special events. Day-to-day Fillmore functions with limited vehicle access and parking on brick clad travel lanes complimented by wide pedestrian promenades adjacent to elegant retail storefronts. The Plaza furnishings include custom light pole banners, a center canopy "ring" feature, furniture, masonry seat walls and planters for seasonal color and permanent plantings. Nolte's team assisted the BID with initial programming and project startup including a detailed scope of work, budget and schedule. As the BID's program managers, the team selected the design and engineering team and managed the design process. Nolte also managed the bidding and construction process through acceptance and warranties.The project involved significant public outreach, constituent communications, monthly Board of Directors updates, weekly and sometimes daily interface with CCN BID Staff and Management and coordination with the City of Denver Departments of Public Works, Fire, and Parks and Recreation (Forestry) in addition to the daily communications with the design and construction team.
