Rich was able to keep the team on track and focused on the mission while shielding the team from outside distractions coming from others both inside and outside the organization. His communication, leadership, and organizational skills were recognized by senior leaders, and was selected over more senior officers to run DIA's Reserve crisis response efforts for COVID for all Service Branches in DIA.
