My name is Richard L. Reed IV, and I am pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering at St. Ambrose University, with an expected graduation date of 2025.In the summer of 2023, I worked as an Astronomy Researcher in Davenport, IA, where I assisted in determining distances to Stripped-Envelope Supernovae using the expanding photosphere method. I helped create a hands-on learning environment, utilized graphical tools to visually compare results, and presented complex information to various audiences.I have been involved in several projects:- **Solar Panel Charging Table**: Oversaw the design and production of solar-powered charging tables on campus, handling maintenance and repair.- **Mono Tread ATV**: Solo-developed a terrain vehicle in Fusion360, managing communication with suppliers and manufacturers, and conducting personal testing.- **TV Stand**: Designed and produced market-ready TV mounts for college dorms, focusing on manufacturability and statics.I am proficient in Fusion360, SolidWorks, Excel, and MATLAB coding. My coursework includes Strength of Materials, Electronics, Dynamics, Design Lab, Differential Equations, ignition solutions and Engineering Design.I have been a varsity volleyball starter for three years and represented Team USA in national and international volleyball events.I volunteered at Drone Summer Camps in 2023, teaching kids to code and build drones and presenting age-appropriate experiments.Currently, I work at John Deere as a Smart Factory Connection Engineer. I collaborate with quality, IT, and factory automation teams, connect quality devices, handle IT-focused tasks, read and create design drawings, work with SQL databases, and ensure workplace safety. I am experienced with Ignition, Python, Java, and identifying PLCs. I am currently working on getting certifications for PLC coding Inductive automation 8.1 IU Credential 11/12/2024
