'The Artistic and Quality Assessment programme provides a fair, robust and transparent platform for discussions about the quality of work produced by the National Portfolio organisations and Major Partner Museums the Arts Council regularly funds.' Arts Council website. Based on my experience as a practitioner my particular area of focus as an assessor covers visual arts.

Focusing on visual arts, I have written for a variety of publications, looking to provide an entertaining and insightful critique of cultural events and the activities surrounding them.

I provide technical assistance in the production and display of exhibitions for art institutions and private clients, holding PASMA and IPAF certificates. Clients include the Whitworth Gallery, The Lowry, Centre For Contemporary Chinese Art, CastlefieldGallery, The Hepworth Wakefield and David Zwirner. As a freelance art handler I have worked with Artiq, Queens Fine Art, Crown Fine Art and various other companies in London.

‘Contents May Vary’ is an artist led initiative with an experimental approach to curation through exploring the site specific. ‘CMV’ has provided a platform for artists to gain access to new audiences or simply to push their own practice in directions it may never have gone. It has also provided a dialogue between artist, space and audience with no boundaries.As a Director within the group, responsibilities varied between artist, curator, designer, copywriter, artist liaison and technician, depending on what was required at the time. This entailed planning a range of exhibitions, delegating responsibilities within the group and working as part of a large team, planning a communications schedule and monthly newsletter issued via email, promoting shows and exhibitions via email marketing and producing exhibitions. My experiences with the group have led to numerous artist talks throughout British Universities and arts institutions on my own practice and the activities of the ‘CMV’

For over a decade I have been a resident DJ in various bars in Manchester City Centre alongside playing at various festivals. I have been responsible for designing nights including flyers and posters, to forming music policy and establishing social media profiles and event pages to develop audiences. My experience as a DJ has provided me with valuable resources when producing cultural events with a wide appeal.

'The Other Side of the Door Is Red' Was the name of a studio in the Hotspur Press building on Manchester's Gloucester Street. Built in 1801 the building played host to numerous industries from cotton mill, to printing press, publishers, music studios and finally an art studio. I Founded the studio in 2007, providing affordable space for artists and designers from recent graduates to early-mid career artists until the buildings closure in 2017.

During my time at the Corner House I worked as an invigilator and gallery technician, gaining vital first hand experience, dealing with the public in a publicly funded contemporary art gallery. This experience also provided me with valuable knowledge regarding the inner workings of a successful arts institution, through working with established artists, curators and other gallery staff.
