From advert creation to CV screening, researching and then building job role specific Inductions for new starters (and launching it company wide) I have overhauled the processes within the business. I have introduced a new Induction process to help reach a retention target of below national average as well as changing the way we advertise our vacancies; utilising modern social media for maximum impact. Negotiating with agencies to form a business PSL to work from for specific role recruitment and negotiating with businesses for advertising.I work with internal and external colleagues to meet the company values for recruitment and retention. I have completed pay rate reviews and competitive reviews to help give us the edge as well as researched the sector to help keep the business ahead of the curve for recruitment and retention in all aspects. I also manage the Exit Interviews for the business and have implemented a process for capturing, and working with, all of the feedback. Deputy ManagerComet Nov 2006 - Oct 2008HuntingdonI was solely in charge of the Shop floor. I was responsible for maintaining a high level of customer service, achieving sales targets, meeting KPI targets, maintaining a high level of staff to match projected daily sales targets. I was in charge of rotas. I was also responsible for stock loss, deliveries, cash control, admin, stock ordering, merchandising, security and recruitment, training and development of my team. I took over from the Store manager when he left and held this position for a few months, helping in other stores as well, managing recruitment of staff, helping with training and development of other new managers and staff and managing a budget across the board. -
Store ManagerH Samuel Apr 2005 - Nov 2006Cambridge & PeterboroughI was Assistant Manager for H Samuels the Jewelers. I also finished a 7-month Manager Position for several of the H Samuel stores in Peterborough and Cambridge, during which time, I recruited staff, developed their knowledge as per the company standards as well as managed budgets and targets and set these out in daily meetings. I also managed the rotas and deliveries and stock auditing. My job as a Deputy Manager involved the day-to-day running of the shop, through paperwork, stock accuracy, repairs, sales, statistics and also team management and daily feedback and reviews. At the beginning of the week I would have to go through the previous weeks statistics, which are based on sales vs. target, atv, units per transaction and also warranty £ take vs. target, for each member of staff to help them improve on the previous week and help to move the shops sales figures forward from the previous week. I also had to prepare all stock returns ready for collection from my store to Head Office. I do also create Rota’s and deal with Holidays as well. I run the shop in the absence of my Manager with the help of my management team and staff. -
Store ManagerBurton Menswear London Jun 1999 - Apr 2005HuntingdonI started off at Burtons as a 16-hour lunchtime cover sales assistant but I progressed into a Deputy Manager and Manager over the course of 1.5 years. My job roles varied from day to day but I was constantly in charge of my team, which consisted of 8-10 staff at a time. I was also in charge of Payroll for my staff and also for my surrounding areas for another 3 weeks. I managed the store in my managers absence before she left for maternity leave and never returned. I was in charge of merchandising not only the stock on the shop floor but also in the stockrooms. I was also in charge of the visual merchandising as well through windows and graphics. I managed the store through motivation of my team through incentives as well. I also increased the turnover from £500k to £950k in my 3 years in charge, keeping labour turnover down to minimal. I managed the rotas, stock audits and deliveries as well as keeping the stock loss down to 1.5% consistently. I recruited and developed several members of the team who went on to manage their own stores in their own right.
