IBT was a small consultancy that focused on emerging technology companies. During such time I personally chaired two United Nations Plenary Sessions in Accra Ghana on the impact of New and Emerging Technology, first involved infrastructure, second involved health and human services. I also was an instructor in Czechoslovakia on agricultural chemical use and safety for American Cyanamid, E.I. Dupont, Monsanto, and Union Carbide with more than 850 participants from 6 countries. I consulted as well during the Union Carbide accident in Bhopal India. Other projects included state of the art aviation, electronics, remote operational systems (drone technology) and communication/broadcast companies. Served on several boards as a director or advisor. We provided business startup training in Eastern Europe following the breakup of the Soviet Union. Financial services in Italy, what was then Albania (a hydro-electric project to provide power to the horn of Italy).

CHEMTREC is an acronym for the Chemical Transportation Emergency Center working 24/7 in support of US chemical manufactures as an interface to world wide emergency services at a time when chemicals are involved in an emergency incident. Spill a bottle of concentrated hydrogen peroxide, we were there to help, faced with a leaking tanker (train or truck) we could answer the questions needed to safely address the situation. Have a leaking pipeline? Yes, pipelines are considered transportation and we assisted many. Assisted Union Carbide in Bhopal India, a leaking sea container in a port in Egypt, and much more. It was my responsibility as supervisor to prepare reports of activities yes, but it went far beyond that. I was required to step in when the amount of emergencies over ran the staff, or step in when staff members were unable to come to work due to illness, vacation or inclement weather. Our operations were recorded and handled via phones that came in through a central switch. We had thousands of paper files, called Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) that were in binders. One responsibility was to facilitate the placement of an advanced data retrieval system including robotics and then oversee the transfer of the paper document system into the scanning electronic system with accurate point of retrieval information. I was also tasked with the interface between visitors to the operation center as well as public speaking and serving as an expert witness as required. It was a great position that involved my 24 hour on-call attention. Nothing like getting your adrenaline pumping when called at 3AM about a major train derailment or multi alarm fire.
