I am a video producer and editor with extensive experience in curriculum development and providing video resources for teachers and grant deliverables. I am proud to support hands-on, project-based learning and to build resources for learners of all backgrounds. Currently I work for the Needham Public School District in the Needham Science Center helping coordinate the STEAM curricula for the district's elementary schools.My interest in education and STEM outreach began when I was earning my degree at Cape Cod Community College. Working during the summers to help facilitate affordable STEM programs hosted on campus, I collected video footage and edited productions of students engaged in program activities. This fostered my own passion for filming, editing, and animating -- all skills I have developed throughout my career. I was selected from a competitive applicant pool to complete a program at Johnson Space Center to design a Mars rover. These experiences led me to and informed my work with the Museum of Science, Boston. In more than five years at the Museum of Science, I worked my way up from Visitor Services and joined the Engineering is Elementary team to assist with a large-scale research project funded by the National Science Foundation. With over 14,000 students in three states, our team published multiple papers and presented at various engineering and education conferences, using research that my team developed. After my promotion to Research and Evaluation Coordinator, I used video capture to support our research projects. Video capture is one of the most effective and accurate ways to analyze student learning, especially paired with journals and other student artifacts. After three years developing my video production and editing skills, and multiple awards from the National Science Foundation for video showcases for STEM projects, I am now contracting for the MoSB alongside my responsibilities with NPSD.
