Macadamia, Banana and Sugarcane farming operation. My roles included:- Sugarcane Transport. Managing the logistics and overall operations for the sugarcane transport and delivery to mill. The sugarcane transport operation consisted of 7 trucks and 14 drivers. I was in charge of managing the drivers. I also managed and coordinated the loading of sugarcane from different zones around the district. - Road Maintenance and Construction. I was in charge managing a 5 person team that would maintain, repair and construct roads and culverts across the farming operation. This role included managing the maintenance of road specific machinery such as a Grader, Excavator, Tip Truck, TLB and Pad-Foot Roller. I also was in charge of contracting out machinery to other farms who required road works to be conducted. Project management was a key skill gained in this role.- Workshop Management. I oversaw the farm workshops and ensured that jobs were completed in a timeous manner as well as prioritizing jobs based on the time of the season. This involved liaising with other farm managers to understand their requirements and time constraints. I implemented systems that streamlined the planning, coordination and tracking of jobs within the workshop.This role also included liaising with suppliers to source better products and to negotiate price and supply. - Precision Agriculture: This role involved investigating systems that could be implemented on farm to improve machinery efficiency and movement. Namely the tracking of tractors and equipment. - Drone Pilot: I was also trained to apply chemicals and ripening agents to the sugarcane crop using a drone.
