• Inaugural Director for the Center for Health System Pharmacy Leadership. The Center’s mission is enhancing the effectiveness of pharmacy leaders in the development, management, and continuous improvement of the medication-use process to improve the health and well being of patients and communities.• Accomplishments Pharmacy Leadership Academy (PLA), a distance learning leadership program, graduating 237 pharmacy leaders through 2010. PLA students obtaining access to graduate degree credits. Continued a decade long relationship with Boston University to conduct a yearly Pharmacy Leadership Institute Published a sentinel report entitled “Leadership is a Professional Obligation.” Turn-key leadership program for Student Society for Health-Systems across the country. Web based “Leadership Resource Center” established for all pharmacists.

• Served as principal advisor to the United States Surgeon General and his staff on matters related to the practice of pharmacy.• Senior leadership to the Commissioned Corps Transformation strategic planning effort on behalf of Public Health Service Commissioned Corps Pharmacist.• Founding member and first President of the Joint Chief Professional Officer Board.• Facilitated Canada and Mexico Ministries of Health collaboration with U.S. government and professional organizations to seek harmonization of common elements in the profession of pharmacy.• Supported the Pan American Health Organization to further collaboration in the profession of pharmacy throughout the hemisphere.
