I began working for Martin Chisholm in June 2009 as the junior of the team. He dealt in some of the world's most desirable cars with a focus on Vintage and Classic cars.After a few months of sweeping the floors, cleaning the cars and generally learning the ropes an opportunity arose for us to sell a large collection of more modern classics. Not wanting to lose the focus of the main business the decision was made to start a new company with different branding and a new website. My baptism of fire was to launch the new business, which was called Cotswold Collectors Cars and sell the collection of over 100 cars. I arranged the branding, the website, photographed the cars, wrote the description and handled all enquiries and sales.In a little over a year we had sold the entire collection and the decision was made for me to come back into the core business of the higher value cars. Cotswold Collectors Cars was put on ice.In 2013 a new business partner joined us and the decision was made to create the partnership using the Cotswold Collector's Car brand. We effectively started a new consignment sales and acquisitions business and ran that successfully for a number of years.In 2016, Martin bought a property near Bibury with the idea of creating a social focused sales environment and thus was born, The Classic Motor Hub. The business developed into an extremely popular destination for petrolheads and with sell out events nearly every month it soon grew to include a coffee shop and workshop facilities. With well over 1,000 visitors a month the profile grew and so did the team.As head of the sales and acquisitions I managed a team of 5 sales people and we had between 40 and 50 cars and motorcycles for sale at any one time.In 2022 the opportunity came up to start out on my own, something I had been curious about for some time. In July of that year, after 13 years working for and with Martin Chisholm and the team I parted ways, all very amicably I might add.

Taken on as a Service Advisor, but trained as a Sales Executive with a view to being moved into Sales after a couple of years. Went through Sales training at the Aston Martin factory in Gaydon and was lucky enough to attend events such as the launch of the DBS in Ascari, Spain, where Aston Martin Sales people were able to compare the new car with other Aston Martins and rivals from Lamborghini, Audi, Porsche and Ferrari on the track and on the road.Unfortunately the financial crisis reared its head and Broughtons made 30% of their staff redundant. Being one of the last in, I was one of the unlucky ones. However, I never would have had the opportunity to join Martin Chisholm Collectors Cars Ltd had this not happened, so a blessing in disguise.
