My role as Business Intelligence Analyst has involved implementing Cognos 10.2.1 as a live reporting system in place of a scheduled reporting system, in order to -- dispose of the requirement for regular report refreshes.- returning report ownership to the IT team instead of an uncontrolled network of locally managed spreadsheets.- ability to identify & remove unused reports hence reduce pressure on the data refresh.This has involved advising key stakeholders from project managers to development teams in the US & India Managing the relationships with IBM & Motio regarding fix packs, tech support, licencing & general how-to'sManaging the release process & reconcile Production against other environments & platformsMaintain the security model & manage the active directory groupsMonitor usage & compare against licencing General BAU & report development using Report Studio & Framework ManagerConfiguration Manager & server maintenanceKey projects have included :- - Implement MotioCI for versioning, release management & testing.- Design & implement a locked down Security Model.- Measure report execution concurrency.I have enjoyed my time immensely at Catlin, and am looking forward to a similar role, in a similar organisation.

Managing the release process, and the Transformer cube refreshes.

I was responsible for maintaining the management reporting function, from populating the Oracle datawarehouse from AS400, maintaining the datawarehouse schemas, and administering the Cognos cube creation each night.Monitoring nightly schedules, amending jobs & re-executing processes to ensure the datawarehouse was refreshed correctly for the morning.Building new cubes, which involved sourcing the data in the AS400, creating stored procs to populate the star schema, then creating, publishing & maintaining cubes & reports via Framework Manager & Transformer.
