Graphic Designer
CurrentRichard Chartier's graphic design practice is based in Los Angeles, California.Chartier has cultivated notoriety for his clean, minimal, formalist aesthetic in design and typography. His extensive experience in graphic design and art direction including logos, annual reports, posters, invitations, books, flyers, packaging, branding style guides, and magazines as well as websiteart direction has led him to work with a multitude of non-profit, art, culture, environmental, and educational institutions as well as for corporations and individuals.Prior to his design consulting work, Chartier served as senior graphic designer for American Association of University Women (AAUW), an association / foundation founded in 1881 dedicated to advancing equity for women & girls through advocacy, education, philanthropy, and research and for Academy for Educational Development (AED), a multi-mission nonprofit focusing on improving education, health, environmental, and economic opportunities for the least advantaged communities in the US and developing countries. He also served as graphic designer for VSA, an international arts & disability organization founded in 1974, now part of The Kennedy Center.
