He is a senior management consultant and executive coach with over 25 years’ experience in facilitating improvements in organizational effectiveness for large organizations and complex human systems. Richard earned a BA in History from Simon Fraser University, and an MA in Leadership and Training from Royal Roads University. Richard specializes in facilitating process focused Continuous Improvement projects and holds a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt from the Acuity Institute. Recently, Richard was honoured with a Fellowship (FCMC) by the Canadian Association of Management Consultants in recognition of his many years of outstanding service to the profession of management consulting. Richard enjoys delivering 360 reviews and Executive Coaching, and is certified through the International Coaching Federation (ACC) and the Boss Whispering Institute. He regularly coaches teams, large and small, and helps support leaders striving to lead team and coaching related culture shifts for their organizations. Richard and his team are members in good standing with the International Association of Facilitators, and Richard has delivered facilitation services to over 10,000 people during his consulting career in a wide variety of sectors. Richard served for many years as a Commissioned Officer with the Canadian Army and the British Army’s Parachute Regiment, as well as on exchange with the Royal Marines Commando. He has earned Canadian, British and US jump wings and made over 200 parachute jumps, is commando trained and an expert in mountainous and arctic warfare, and has trained and led hundreds of troops, safely and successfully, during counter-insurgency operations in Northern Ireland during ‘The Troubles’. Richard has been awarded the Canadian Forces Decoration (CD) in recognition of over 40 years of full time and part time military service. Richard is an avid self-propelled outdoorsman and particularly enjoys remote expeditions – he once hiked across Baffin Island – as well as high altitude mountaineering where he has summited more than a dozen mountains above 10,000ft in altitude including Mt Kilimanjaro (19,431ft), Pico de Orizaba (18,491ft), Whitney (14,505ft), and Rainier (14,410ft).
