I bring thirty plus years of financial and operating experience to my clients having served as CFO/COO on a contract or full time basis for entrepreneurs primarily in high tech, life sciences, and consumer products industries. I also serve as independent adviser, often continuing with clients post CFO/COO role. My background includes extensive strategy development supported by realistic Business Plans that have garnered well over $100M in fresh capital. My CFO roles typically include implementation of critical fiscal controls, KPI-driven management reporting, planning and analytical modeling, budgeting, GAAP financials, financial/operational systems designed for rapid revenue scale-up, and establishment of growth oriented banking/finance relationships. Longer term and full time roles include M&A work involving purchases and sales of divisions and subsidiaries as well as an IPO, mergers and other exit liquidity events. A major specialty developed over my career is designing and building solid business foundations that withstand stress, the kind the comes from hyper-growth as well as the unwelcome downdraft when a company encounters the unpredictable or unforeseen. Another specialty is my experience and knowledge of specific industry and regulatory issues (GLP, GMP, FDA, FTC, DOD, GAAP) that impact a company's success starting from proof of concept through minimum viable product and eventually into fully developed commercial products. Lastly, I have built extensive investor, banking, and industry related networks to secure virtually all forms of debt and equity capital when needed.
