My main duties were: conducting research, analysing and presenting results for my project where I have investigated the role on solid non- spherical particles at fluid interfaces with potential applications in foams and emulsions. I have fabricated particles with a range of different shapes and aspect ratios. In addition, I have acquired experience of using optical and scanning electron microscopy, UV visible and IR spectroscopy, interfacial tension and zeta potential measurements and a Langmuir trough. I have presented my results in both written and oral form for my industrial sponsors and at conferences around the UK and Europe.In addition to my own research, I have taught, assisted and organised undergraduate students. I have worked with more than twenty students in teaching laboratories ensuring that tasks are completed on time and safe working practice maintained.
