-As the organization's Executive Director (a Brigadier General’s billet), assisted, or oftentimes led as acting for, the Commanding General in capably leading a 17,800 Marine Division in operations across the Pacific Theater; ensured all the policies and guidance of the CG were carried out.-Developed unprecedented positive relationships with Japanese, Thai, South Korean, Philippine, and Australian counterparts and local civilians.

-Planned, developed, re-introduced the Unit Deployment Program (UDP); Initiated the Marine Rotational Forces-Darwin (MRF-D); Initiated the Air Contingency MAGTF (ACM); Operationalized the Regimental Hq; Created 'Exercise Chromite;' Envisioned and created additional capacity, programs & improvements to Camp Schwab, Camp Hansen, and Darwin, Australia.-Led only permanent, forward-deployed Marine Regiment which planned for and was uniquely postured to “fight tonight” or respond to any major conflict or unforeseen contingency should it erupt in the Pacific.-Reconstitution of 4th Marines was key component to the "re-balancing to the Pacific" strategic aim.

-Led high demand/low density Joint Training Division, while also frequently and concurrently leading one of the Division's 40-personnel Deployable Training Teams (DTTs) responsible for improving efficiency and operations of all Combatant Commands, the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) Joint Command (IJC), and the Regional Commands (RC) in Afghanistan.-Led, coordinated, and/or facilitated instruction for the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (CJCS)-directed KEYSTONE, CAPSTONE, PINNACLE programs.

-Led 2/7 during its HISTORIC combat preparation and highly successful expeditionary deployment to Afghanistan during 2008; re-introduced and led a 1,500-man Joint Task Force into the very austere and volatile districts of both Helmand and Farah Provinces as part of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM (OEF)--the 28,700 square km operational area was the size of the state of Vermont.

-Led and supervised the detachment responsible for facilitating and/or instructing Marines attending the Infantry Captains Career Course, and the Marines, sailors, and SEALs training at Airborne, Ranger, Pathfinder, Jumpmaster, Reconnaissance Surveillance Leaders Course (RSLC), Infantry Mortar Leaders, Bradley Master Gunner, and other courses at Fort Benning, GA; maintained supervision and supported over 1000 students per year.

-Assisted the Commanding Officer in leading and training approximately 3200 Marines across the spectrum of operations in preparation for combat operations in Iraq.-Worked the personnel manning of all infantry battalions within a 3200-man Regiment in the midst of a dynamic wartime turnover environment; fully manned the battalions preparing to deploy for OIF 04-06.-Compiled OIF lessons learned for incorporation into TTECG's training continuum.

-Established the INAUGURAL Future Operations Division as an integral component of transitioning Marine Air Ground Combat Center (MAGCC) to Marine Air Ground Task Force Training Command (MAGTFTC). -Conceptualized, planned, designed, and was sole lead for the development of the INAUGURAL $170 million, 1,500+ building, Military Operations in Urban Terrain (MOUT) training facilities construction. -Led the development of the INAUGURAL Twenty-Nine Palms “Land Expansion” strategy into Johnson Valley. -Led the development of the new MAGTFTC Range Complex Management Plan (RCMP).

-Assisted the Commanding Officer (CO) in leading, training, and directing a 1500-man Task Force across the spectrum of operations in preparation for, deployment to, and conduct of combat operations during Operations ENDURING and IRAQI FREEDOM I (OIF I). -Led as the commander in multiple combat operations including ‘the march up,' while the CO conducted planning with the ALPHA command, and subsequently led daily operations in An Najaf while the CO operated as the “Military Governor.” -Led the battalion’s Key Leader Engagement efforts with the An Najaf Governate Council, Security Council, and with Religious Leaders; in particular, made THE VERY FIRST Western engagements with staff and senior Grand Ayatollahs of the Hawza.

-Led one of the most diverse companies in the Marine Corps responsible for training field craft, weapons, and tactics to the officers attending The Basic School (TBS) Basic Officer Course (BOC) and the Infantry Officers Course (IOC); consisting of over 300 Combat Instructors (CI) in five operational platoons (Engineers, Artillery, Tracked Vehicles, Infantry, and Weapons); -Created the "Small Boat Unit" and re-introduced small boat (CRRC)/Riverine raids & training.-Assisted with the creation and initial development of the new Marine Corps Martial Arts Program (MCMAP).

-Planned and developed a vision, strategy and policy on exploiting science and technology from across DoD to support emerging concepts and enhance Marine Corps warfighting capabilities; further conducted extensive coordination and led the experimentation and innovation developmental efforts executed within the construct of service and joint exercises.-Solely led the experimentation and innovation efforts for multiple major exercises including: Extending Littoral Battlespace (ELB) Advanced Concept Technology Demonstration (ACTD), Kernal Blitz, Urban Warrior, and Fleet Battle Experiment-E (FBE-E); efforts resulted in informing future capability requirements or directly resulted in acquisition.

-Capably led, trained, and tactically employed a 180-man infantry company across the spectrum of operations in preparation for combat operations; ensured combat readiness and proficiency was attained and maintained.-With no prior training, assumed the immediate-fill position of Battalion Logistics Officer and then rapidly led the successful effort to plan for, embark, and move the battalion to Okinawa, Japan within a one-month period, followed by subsequent rapid planning and movements to Fuji, Japan for field training; to Hokkaido, Japan for exercise FOREST LIGHT; and then re-deployed the battalion back to Okinawa, all using well-coordinated Strategic Lift (STRATLIFT).
