Full disclosure from someone lucky enough to work in social media and with great people: I’m not always comfortable with social media. I’m much happier when I get to go places, have new experiences, and talk to people in person. And I’ve been lucky to travel globally and frequently — from living in Japan on study abroad while in college, to a recent journey to Ireland, and many trips in between. At the same time, I work for a marketing firm that specializes in helping CEOs and senior executives make LinkedIn work for them. And while I may be a bit lukewarm on Facebook, X, and other platforms, I regularly see — in real-time — the powerful benefits that LinkedIn, deployed well, offers its members.Sometimes our clients, who are amazingly interesting and innovative people, come to us with the same perspective on social media. They may not see its value, and they certainly don’t have time for it. But it doesn’t take long for them to see how using LinkedIn strategically can help them reach their goals faster. Our work is to get the smallest possible investment of their time and convert the input into meaningful, consistent content on LinkedIn — rich profiles, relevant posts, thought leadership blogs, and more. Great work with fascinating people — and measurable results. That’s something I am very comfortable with.
