About Rick Penn
Coming out of college I entered the USN as a Surface Warfare Officer. The majority of my billets were engineering related including three stints as a chief engineer and one as the Diesel Engine Department Head at one of the officer training schools. While there, I rewrote the entire curriculum and taught diesel engine theory, electrical theory, thermodynamics, and numerous Navy specific programs. After leaving the military I worked for a company that made silicon wafers. I was a process engineer, production supervisor, and headed up the plant maintenance department. From there I joined General Electric. I have held several different positions in manufacturing, quality, and finance. I am a certified six sigma Master Black Belt and have extensive experience in Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement. I enjoy sailing, reading, and time with my family.
