Having worked in the private sector for almost 15 years I have more recently undertaken a variety of roles for Greater Manchester Police, most notably leading the Force’s preparations for the 2012 Torch Relay and Olympic Games and being seconded to the role of deputy manager of the Association of Greater Manchester Authorities’ shared Emergency Planning team. I also enjoy working as a part time Event Steward. I am able to offer a comprehensive set of key skills including:COLABORATION: I have worked successfully with many partner organisations including Local Authorities, other emergency services, transport providers, Environment Agency, NHS, Government departments, LOCOG and commercial organisations to develop shared operational plans, manage risks for major events, business continuity incidents and public emergencies, and to deliver business development projects.PROGRAMME & PROJECT MANAGEMENT: I have a wide range of programme and project management experience and hold a Managing Successful Programmes qualification. I have also utilised these skills effectively to design and deliver annual business plans in complex stakeholder environments.PLANNING & ORGANISING: I have a successful track record of planning in a range of environments including manufacturing and logistics operations, finance and private and public events, often in high pressure situations involving tight deadlines.RISK MANAGEMENT: I have experience of managing project and operational risks and influencing stakeholders to agree and implement pragmatic mitigation plans. I have also undertaken risk assessments for public events and led a multi agency team to re-design public emergency risk assessment processes. INFLUENCING SKILLS: I have significant experience of delivering projects where a successful outcome can only be achieved through managing relationships to gain influence rather than having direct control over resources, priorities and decisions.
