• Created a Technology Committee to assist with the implementation of new IT initiatives and was responsible for spearheading: the adoption of an electronic format for all documentation, petitioning the Public Service Commission to be the first in the state to establish 311 and electronic bill-pay options for city services.• As one of seven elected officials tasked with governing the affairs of the municipality of Starkville, MS was responsible for: adopting the city budget, setting tax levy’s, managing eight city departments, appointing committees, adopting policies/procedures/ordinances, and officially representing the city at several local, state-wide, and national functions.• Met regularly with department heads, constituents, and business partners to assess needs within the city.• Worked with a web developer on the redesign of the city’s website in order to better disseminate information to the public.• Drafted and presented several city ordinances that were approved and made local law.
