Joined CNA Insurance Company in Richmond, Virginia in 2002 and transferred to Michigan in April of 2004 to manage CNA’s $150,000,000 Michigan Operations.As a Branch Vice President for seven years, I held the responsibilities of oversight of all aspects of CNA’s Commercial Insurance operations for the states of Virginia and Michigan. Management of Fireman’s Funds Baltimore and Richmond Underwriting offices. Key charges were:• Establishing Branch strategic direction.• Responsible for retaining key clients, acquiring new clients, and the overall development of premium cost for all Branch clients.• Accountable for Branch profitability.• Oversight and management of Fireman’s Funds Maryland and Virginia insurance agents.• Management of an underwriting staff located in both Baltimore and Richmond offices.

Worked in the Richmond, Virginia Branch as an executive commercial lines underwriter. Handled both guaranteed cost and loss sensitive products. Underwrote clients with a wide range of operations spanning the gambit of low hazard, low premium-cost to high hazard and complex policy structure.Worked extensively with Reliance’s Risk Control and Claims Departments to dissect our client’s loss trends and key cost drivers. A process that involved creating targeted “Claim Budgets” for each client and assisting them in managing down their insurance costs via interactive Risk Control and Claim Action Plans.

Held the position of Senior Commercial Lines Underwriter and National Accounts Executive Underwriter. Job duties included:• Production Underwriter for all lines of coverage: Selected and priced commercial business insurance products. Worked directly with my assigned agency partners to manage the insurance products for new and renewal clients. • Workers’ Compensation Expert for the Richmond Branch: Underwrote and managed the Workers’ Compensation product for the Fireman’s Fund’s Virginia operations.• National Accounts Executive Underwriter: Underwrote and marketed large loss sensitive products (Deductibles and Retrospective products) for Fireman’s Funds Virginia and Maryland clients.

Managed $6 million of insurance premiums for clients located in Virginia. Handled all lines of insurance for clients with operations that included: Heavy Construction, Hospitality, Manufacturing, Municipalities and School systems, Propane manufacturing and distribution, Metal working and distribution.
