The Division for Inclusive Social Development brought me in to improve knowledge management, communications and outreach efforts for the Programme on Disability. As part of those efforts I developed options for a knowledge and information management system of the Conference of States Parties to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, including the organization of the information in the department’s website. This included analyzing and proposing improvements to the existing outreach communications activities, including on social media and other communication channels.Key accomplishments:- 20% per cent increase in Twitter impressions for the fourth quarter of 2019 compared to the same period for 2018- Developed inter-agency and civil society engagement networks- Successfully organized an international Expert Group Meeting on the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals by, for and with persons with disabilities;- Drafted and led the dissemination of 13 policy briefs and accompanying graphics, focusing on the realization of selected Sustainable Development Goals and targets for persons with disabilities

In my capacity as sub-editor for Thailand’s oldest daily newspaper, with a daily print distribution of 110,000 copies, I edited, rewrote, and fact-checked articles translated from Thai into English. I also worked with national, international and opinion section editors to ensure style consistency across all content, including print and web.

At Rapid Asia, an international development consulting firm with expertise in monitoring and evaluation across Asia, I guided a team of Thai social science and development researchers in the creation of monitoring and evaluation reports for social development projects across Southeast Asia. As such, I edited and provided final drafts of reports to be presented to partners and stakeholders.

I returned to my native Venezuela after several years in the United States to gain invaluable private sector experience creating and implementing engagement strategies in the development of political risk and instability insurance coverage for leading manufacturers in the country at a time of increasing economic and political uncertainty.

As part of a merit-based scholarship I was awarded by Boston University I supported the work of professors in the School of International Affairs with research to produce publications and class materials on the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea. As Graduate Assistant I also created a database on European defense industry spending by tracking defense lobbying within the European Commission.

In my first role with the United Nations I conducted the initial research, drafting and presentation of a comprehensive and integrated counter-terrorism strategy for the United Nations. Working with the Middle East and Africa unit, I created talking point and identified priorities for country visits and capacity-building projects based on international counter-terrorism best practices.

At Right to Play is where my passion for international development took shape. As Grants Development Analyst, I managed development research from identifying funding opportunities to monitoring project implementation for capacity building projects focused on conflict resolution, early childhood development and public health. To improve operations I created a partnership database to improve communications and project coordination.
